We understand how personal therapy can be, therefore we take our clients privacy and data security seriously. From the beginning, we have developed our platform with great emphasis on security and we keep improving. Your call is not recorded or saved anywhere. Everything you say stays between you and your therapist, who is bound by client confidentiality.
The first session can take place in different ways. When it comes to online sessions, apart from running via a computer, they are not that different from face to face sessions. Usually, at the beginning, the therapist asks what are you coming to them with, what is bothering you, or what you expect from the sessions. It’s up to you how much you tell them, it’s important to feel safe. Based on what you discuss, the next step unfolds. Sometimes the topic is clear from the beginning and begins to develop in the first hour, sometimes the client comes up with a relatively complex issue and the therapist needs to get their bearings at first. Some therapists ask about the history of the problem, family background, and other questions. It also depends on the therapeutic direction.
Everyone feels differently and some people need more time, but often the first session itself will help a lot. It’s up to you how much you say, it’s important to feel good. Therapy is “about people”, it is important that the client and the therapist are sure that they can and want to work together, that they suit each other. Part of the first session is an agreement on what you will work on, how often, and for how long. And if you are not convinced that the therapist is suitable for you, take some time and don’t force yourself to cooperate. You can try someone else.
Therapy is the most effective long-term, so you may want to continue your sessions with your therapist. Additional sessions can be booked at will and pay by cards.
